Today · first listen
Listen through first
Enjoy the show as usual and remember just one interesting part. You do not need to look up every unfamiliar proper name. Rather than practising throughout, listen to a section and then return.
Today · listen again
Return to one passage
Go back to the part that made you wonder what was said. If the episode has phrase boundaries, replay the phrase first. Narrow it with A-B repeat only if it is too long. If the publisher supplies a timed transcript, read that part after listening. Even without a transcript, replaying the surrounding sounds can reveal something.
To check the words you heard, try dictation. If you stumble when speaking, try shadowing. Simply listening again is also enough today. Bookmark a passage if you want to return tomorrow.
Tomorrow · a few minutes
Replay only the passage you saved
Listen to yesterday's bookmark without looking at text. Can you now hear the word you missed? If it is still unclear, include the surrounding audio. A few minutes can continue yesterday's practice without restarting the show. Once you understand, finish there and move to the next episode.
Add your usual show to Rehear
Tap +, then Podcast. Enter the show's RSS URL or a supported show or episode share URL, then open the episode you want from the added show.
Some publishers provide transcripts. These are separate from Rehear's automatically generated transcripts. Without timing information, the text cannot follow playback.
For offline listening, download the episode from the series detail screen. This is separate from audio temporarily prepared for playback or practice, so check before going out. Very long or large episodes may not be saved.
